On my x32win10ProV1909 desktop, generally dates are shown in Austra1ian format, but when SEARCH (Cortana ?) reports a file, the date of 'latest modification' it shows, is in American date format. Can that be 'a1igned' to Australian format ?
Hmmm, seems you get around the Internet. I don't use Cortana so not sure what is happening here. But to clarify, the date is correct, right? The problem is, one shows "day and month" and the other shows "month and day". Correct? Did you check the Date and Time settings in Control Panel to make sure the "Short Date" and "Long Date" settings are the way you want them?

To double check that, I SEARCHed for 'Mydox', and I got a result (shown in Cortana.JPG) that does NOT show which format is used - it could be 11 May or 5 Nov. So I looked at its Properties (shown in MyDox.JPG) - but the three dates there are neither May nor Nov. That is a DIFFERENT issue/problem from the one I posted about. In order to 'reproduce' the phenomenon I posted about, I looked for an item whose day of the month was later than 12 (shown in Explorer.JPG), but SEARCH revealed NO date for it(Autoruns.JPG). Yet another issue different from my post's. As for my date settings Control Panel; Region; see Region.JPG When I changed 'thumbnails' to 'Full image' so you would be able to see the detail, the UNTITLED pics formed the mess below. Yet another additional difficulty ! The Explorer attachment is shown out of order - at the end instead of earlier. It is becoming very complex and I will leave it at this for now.
Well, I don't know what is happening but when I look at my Region settings, my "Long date" is the same as yours. But my "Short date" is M/d/yyyy. I don't know why different.
I changed my MM to M as shown in the attachment, but Cortana's date is still American format, as 1/10/2020 HAS to be January (October has not happened yet).
