I have two 8600 printers hooked wirelessly to my pc. The original which works fine I'll refer to as, "Two trays." The 2nd I'll refer to as, "one tray. Both printer use the same driver per hp. When I open the hp printer app for 2 tray I get the full menu of options. When I open the app for 1 tray I get a limited set of options. Also for some reason when I print photos on 1 tray they have a green overcast.
Did both printers used to display the same options? If you look at the top of each screen shot, the 2nd is showing up as a printer only, HP2595DF. You say these are connected to your PC. Is that true? Or are they really connected to your network and your PC prints to them via your network?
When the printer was on my friends machine it showed the same options. Sorry, They are connected via a wireless router, no cat 5. Hmmm, I think you figured it out. Maybe you, "I," can only have one multifunction, "ie printer, scanner, fax," installed at a time. A software limitation then? Bummer!
No, I don't think that is true. At least, I am quite certain it is not a Windows limitation. I suspect, if anything, it is the HP software doing it - assuming the printing device itself is still functioning properly. The 8600 has an embedded web server. That mean you don't need the software. You can log directly into the printer's own web server to fax and scan directly from your browser. Find the IP address of the 2nd device and enter that into your browser and see if you can scan and fax from there.
Ok, finally figured it out. Had to add the additional software, "scan/fax etc," to the already installed software under the new printer. Don't ask me how I "Stumbled," across it. Thank you. Now I just have to figure out the green hue it adds to photos, "scanned or from the PC."
Don't really know about that problem. You may have to run through the device's calibration and cleaning tools.
I ran the cleaning and calibration about 4 time. Finally got my hammer. Removed print head, soaked it isopropyl alcohol put it back and everything like brand new
