    A friend of mine installed Roboscan Free about a week ago. I told him, according to the site it hasn't been updated since 2013. He told me he knows but the virus definitions are updating, the most recent was 9/3/15. Is he safe using that program ? Also will AVG Free slowdown, a P4, 3GB RAM ? Thanks

    I'm not familiar with Roboscan.
    Seems to be legit but just little known.
    I'd rather rely on better established programs when it comes to computer security.

    Note for Windows 8 users: Microsoft Security Essentials comes preinstalled and renamed as Windows Defender.
    You can keep it or you have to disable it before installing another AV program. How to...

    Thanks broni, I personally use Bitdefender Free on my pc, and Bodhi Linux on the laptop.
