Desktop Icons have changed to white background

    The icons on my desktop have become tiny and set in a white square with a large shortcut arrow rather than the usual shortcut icon. Can anyone explain why and how I can change back to icons without the white square? Using W7 IE11

    I was trying to remember the 'Fix it' name, sop thanks for that. It didn't change things though. Sorry

    Hmmm, have you scanned for malware?

    Yes, and how! I even called BT Technical Help and they spent 45 minutes trying to sort the problem. Only 3 icons are now in that state, the rest have reset themselves! I will wait and see what happens but so far, no operating problems.

    I would try that reset Fixit again - with a reboot or two in the middle. If still no good, we may need to concentrate on just those 3 left.
