This may sound a little daft, but bear with me. I am helping my neighbour with data transfer involving spreadsheets being transferred from Excel 2003 to Excel 2013. However, there are numerous spreadsheets contained on network drives that he hasn't got access to anymore (however, I did find out that all the data is on the local drive.) When I open one of the spreadsheets containing links to a spreadsheet that was pointing to the network drive, Excel can't open it. Is there any way (maybe when I install 2013 on the new computer) that I can ask Excel to look for the spreadsheets on the one main drive (C) without having to go through all of the main spreadsheets individually? (I said c: because that is where I will transfer the data to)
Sorry, this statement is confusing. It says to me, "When I open the spreadsheet, Excel can't open it." If you mean Excel cannot open the file containing the linked info because the networked drive is no longer available, see if this helps: http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/fixing-broken-formula-links-in-excel-2007.html.
Sorry, it is rather! As my neighbour has got lots of linked spreadsheets, this will take a while!! Thankyou.
