desktop is running very slow after Kaspersky install. I'm not sure that it is Kaspersky, so I'd like to find out (in laymans terms) what is running and the percentages of CPU and memory each application uses. Apart from the task manager, is there an application which I can run which will show me the full picture.
Process explorer will give you a far more detailed explanation of what's running on your PC It can be found here Process Explorer Hope that helps Jim23
Thanks Jim23, I as I suspected it was not Kaspersky. I have recently bought an internet radio which can play music via the network using Windows Music Player The WPM associated program used for the network is wmpnetwk.exe, and that is showing a percentage usage of the CPU of around 50%. I checked with a friend who also has the internet radio, and the CPU usage is less that 1% Any ideas of what could be causing this issue. Rannoch
Hi rannoch There's a fix for this sorted out by Nakodari The link for is here Fix wmpnetwk.exe In Windows 7 Hope that helps Jim23
Thanks again Jim23, Unfortunately, the fix didn't work, so I have disabled the service using the instructions in the link you provided. I've just put Windows 8 on a dual boot, so I'll try the network share again using W8 when/if I manage to figure it out. Thanks for your help. Regards, Rannoch
