Using Windows 7 to map a network drive

Mapping a network drive in Windows 7 is fairly straight forward. The drive mapping can be done by accessing "Computer".

Here is how to map a network drive in Windows 7

    • Click the Windows 7 Start Button
    • Click on Computer
    • Click on Map Network Drive on the menu
    • Select the Drive letter you wish to use
    • Select the folder on your hard drive to map
    • Click Finish

The Start menu can be customized and so some may not have Computer displayed in their Start menu. Double clicking Computer on the desktop will open Windows Explorer. From there, select Tools from the menu bar, then Map Network Drive.

If you don't have the Computer icon displayed on your desktop, you can open Windows Explorer by starting to type in the search box, explorer. As results appear, click Windows Explorer to open it, then Tools and Map Network Drive.
