Hello, a few days ago I started running a program when it said the files for the program didn't exist then I proceeded to reinstall the program which then prompted me to restart my computer which I did. It remained in the Windows ME page for 30 minutes until I manually restarted I then put in my Windows ME disk and began a system reload. It was reading my Hard Drive when it came up with an error saying that it couldn't read a certain data cluster and said it would attempt to read past it. It stayed at 64% for an hour until I shut down the computer. Is there anything that can be done or is my Hard Drive gone?

I suggest you let it run for at least two hours to see what happens. If there's no real progress, then continue on below. Is there anything that can be done or is my Hard Drive gone? There are several/many tools available to check Hard Disks. The UBCD is one that comes to mind. Ultimate Boot CD - Overview Windows ME was (sort of) a "jumping off" point to the NTFS file system. A hybrid Operating System. (If your hard disk checks out as OK) If you have access to an XP (Full) Install CD, I suggest you back up (* see below) any data you want to keep onto CD's or Thumbdrives (USB) and clean install XP (format OS drive).
