(First, please don't yell at me if I posted this in the wrong section!) I have had the same Gmail account for many years. I have never had a problem sending/receiving email except for 2 instances. I have sent and received email previously from both of them, but today, for example, I was told I received an email and it is nowhere to be found. I DO NOT have filters on, I did check Gmail help, I did search online troubleshooting databases, and nothing has yet helped. One was hotmail, one was from a school district. I have successfully contacted both in the past. PS. I don't know what POP is, but I haven't screwed around with any of those settings. :hammer::hammer::hammer::hammer:
What do you mean you were told? What told you? Did you check Google's spam folder? You don't need to mess with POP settings unless you use a local email client (like Outlook) to access your gmail. account.
Well that does not mean you received it. It could have been blocked on their end, or somewhere in between. If you are receiving mail from other sources, then it would be hard to suggest there is a problem on your end.
The sender has tried multiple times and I would assume if they hit "send" that an email would shortly be arriving. It makes no sense that all of a sudden we can't communicate. We've been emailing one another at this same email address for months. I don't understand why all of a sudden the school district email service would block a gmail address. Grrrrrrr.
Unfortunately, we can never assume email sent will be delivered. It can bounce around the "cloud", often for 2 or 3 days then end up in the "bit bucket" - that is, simply disappear. Can the sender send to other gmail addresses. Can you receive other emails? Are you on the school district service or the sender? Is the sender sending just text? Or is there an attachment?
