Upgraded Windows 7 being a sheizer!

My Gateway was upgraded to Windows 7, so I think that is largely (mostly?) to blame.

First problem: Mass Storage Controller is not found... which causes the SD reader on my laptop will not work, right? I've done unlimited self-helps to solve this, but there is no Windows 7 driver (?) available for download. How is that even possible? Windows 7 has been out forever now!!

Second problem: All of a sudden, my 'puter is either telling me I need to format my SD cards before it will read them, which I've tried formatting and it says it can't, or it just doesn't even show up when I connect the card readers to my computer. The cards work normally on every other computer, just not mine. I'm starting to show my Hulk side with this issue. I've done research, I've checked my USB ports, I've checked troubleshooting things, I've tried to install Vista mass storage drivers, yada yada. Point being: I've tried.. I know how some people get annoyed!

    Grazi ahead of time, hopefully.
