BLUETOOTH. PC TO MOBILE. My mobile, (Nokia 2720), is unhidden, and as far as I can tell is ready to connect to or by my PC, but can’t find my PC. My Actions:- Open “CONTROL PANEL” then “BLUTOOTH DEVICES”, which is a blank page with two column headings. 1) NAME. 2) DEVICE CATEGORY. Above them there are three buttons:-1) VIEWS. 2) ADD WIRELESS DEVICE. 3) BLUETOOTH SETTINGS. When I click on “ADD WIRELESS DEVICE” a window headed, “PAIR WITH A WIRELESS DEVICE” opens. Directly beneath the heading is a button with an arrow pointing to the left, with the words, “PAIR WITH A WIRELESS DEVICE” beside it. The button is GREYED out, (can’t be used). Beneath that it says :- “SELECT A WIRELESS DEVICE TO PAIR WITH THIS COMPUTER”. There are no devices in the list. Below the empty device list there is a link :- WHAT SHOULD I DO IF WINDOWS HASN’T DISCOVERED MY DEVICE? If I click on the link a help window opens :- To set up a Bluetooth enabled device, you need to do three things: 1. Add a Bluetooth adapter to your computer. This is usually done by plugging the adapter into a USB port. (If a Bluetooth adapter is already built in or attached to your computer, ignore this step.) 2. Set up the device so that your computer can find it. To do this, you must: o Turn the device on. o Make it discoverable. To learn how to make a device discoverable, check the information that came with your device or go to the manufacturer’s website. 3. Install the device. To install most devices, such as a mobile phone, keyboard, mouse, or personal digital assistant (PDA), you can use Bluetooth Devices in Control Panel. If you have Bluetooth wireless technology installed on your computer, follow these steps: To install a Bluetooth enabled device 1. Click the Start button , click Control Panel, and then double-click Bluetooth Devices. 2. Click Add, and then follow the instructions. It appears that I have gone full circle. So I cancel “ PAIR WITH WIRELESS DEVICES”. Now, when I click on “BLUETOOTH SETTINGS” in the “BLUETOOTH DEVICES” window, another window opens, headed, “BLUETOOTH RADIO PROPERTIES”. There are three tabs, ”OPTIONS”, “COM PORTS”, “HARDWARE”. Starting with HARDWARE. There is a window headed “DEVICES” which is empty. The only button is a “PROPERTIES” button. Now the “COM PORTS” tab, which is also empty. Makes sense. Bluetooth is incorporated in PC. Now! When I go to the”OPTIONS” tab, there is a check-box: “ALLOW BLUETOOTH DEVICES TO FIND THIS COMPUTER”, with another two check-box already checked; “ALLOW BLUETOOTH DEVICE TO CONNECT TO THIS COMPUTER”; and “ALERT ME WHEN A NEW BLUETOOTH DEVICE WANTS TO CONNECT”. Problem. When I check: “ALLOW BLUETOOTH DEVICES TO FIND THIS COMPUTER”, then click the “APPLY” button, I get an error message.: BLUETOOTH SERVICE ERROR An error occurred while windows was saving your settings. The Bluetooth service might be unplugged. The following settings were not saved: Discoverability settings Connection settings. OK Can someone please throw some light on the subject.
It could possibly be a driver issue. I've had wierd issues with bluetooth as well, and I just reinstalled the driver and it worked fine.
Thanks for reply jyeager24. I have been in "Device Manager" to update drivers. It says, I've got the latest.
Hey. Had the same prob. I resolved it by uninstalling my Bluetooth. Then go to piratebay.se and download an application called Driver Genius Professional. Install the app. Follow the instructions on scanning your computer to update your drivers. Download the new drivers. Then install them. restart your computer. This worked for me. Give it a go. Hope it helps. All the best.
