My pc had a lot of clutter that I was trying to delete and think I've accidentally deleted my multi media driver. I'm a completely useless with computers and have no idea how to get it back. I no longer have the setup disks that came with my pc as they were lost in a housemove a couple of years back. Here's my system specs according to Belarc. Any advice telling me what driver to install and where I can get this from would be muchly appreciated. And sorry for being such a t*t for doing this in the first place!!!!! Let me know if I'm missing something (I probably am ) and where to find the details. Cheers muchly again Operating System Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 (build 2600) Enclosure Type: Desktop Processor 2.40 gigahertz Intel Celeron 16 kilobyte primary memory cache 256 kilobyte secondary memory cache Drives 117.34 Gigabytes Usable Hard Drive Capacity 73.78 Gigabytes Hard Drive Free Space _NEC DVD_RW ND-2500A [CD-ROM drive] IDE DVD-ROM 16X [CD-ROM drive] VX4983O MRO991C SCSI CdRom Device [CD-ROM drive] 3.5" format removeable media [Floppy drive] ST3120022A [Hard drive] (117.36 GB) -- drive 0, s/n 5JT2E3VL, rev 3.04, SMART Status: Healthy Controllers Standard floppy disk controller Primary IDE Channel [Controller] Secondary IDE Channel [Controller] SiS PCI IDE UDMA Controller BUS adapters VAXSCSI Controller SiS 7001 PCI to USB Open Host Controller (2x) SiS PCI to USB Enhanced Host Controller Display NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200LE [Display adapter] BenQ G900W [Monitor] (19.1"vis, s/n DC710944SL0, December 2007) Multimedia MPU-401 Compatible MIDI Device Standard Game Port
Audio drivers -------------------------------------------------- The best source for audio drivers is the computer manufacturers web site. If the computer was custom built then go to the motherboard manufacturers web site. Go to the driver download section and insert your model number. The drivers will be there. If you are one of the very few people that actually installed a PCI "Sound Card" then you should have the drivers CD for that card or again go to that manufacturers web site.
Not sure who the manufacturer is; the company I bought the computer from has their name plastered over everything and has gone bust. I've been told that I should've upgraded some time ago as this is now probably 8 years old, but for little ole technophobe me it's always done exactly what I've wanted - browse t'web and play my music. Now it only does half that I'm suffering, hence the request for help
