    Did you install SP3?

Did you install the latest .NET Framework?

Did you install all Windows Updates?

After answering those questions I would again suggest reviewing the history of your laptop.

Don't just post a few lines but let us know like when was the last time it was all ok? What might have happened when it started to have problems? What if anything did you do when it started to have problems? Could you ever play these games before? etc.

The more you can tell us the more we can try to help.

As per gaming you can try this scan for particular games:

    Can you run it ..............................................

    Can You RUN It?

As to a more comprehensive diagnostic please read this thread:

Read the post HERE for a few diagnostic ideas and post back any relevant data.

yes, i attempt to get avaible updates possable. this is my girlfriends laptop so, i don't know because she never played games like this, the only time these events happen are when i use java apps which get to 150mb graphics an i have 256mb graphics, the computer well passes the expectations for games i play i only play games that i know should rather very very smoothly like 1gh or less games e.g 64mb-256mb RAM.

It would help us help you if you would reply to specific questions. Sorry if this is tedious but it is the only way we can determine what is going on.

There were many questions in my last post if you re-read it.

    Do you have SP3 now?

What is your version of .NET Framework?

Did you try "Can I run it?" and what were the results?

Did you review your Event Viewer? If so what errors did you find?

Now you mention Java. Do you have the latest Java?

Download Free Java Software - Sun Microsystems

Laptops were not made to play games or do intense graphics.

Your graphics RAM is totally using your motherboard RAM. It is shared. Your scan showed 750MB RAM total so if you are pulling 250MB on the graphics your entire system is reduced to 500MB which is not much for gaming.

Anyway again the more answers you can provide the better we can try to help.

what do you mean how do i do that...

the game is able to run on 256ram and 128mb graphics card computers, the game works best on laptops

Did you review your Event Viewer? If so what errors did you find?
    how i do that?

i have the latest java. because i only got it the other day an the game requires a low version of javasun.

First off for security reasons you should only have the latest version of JAVA and should remove all previous versions via Add/Remove Programs. The latest is 6_12.

When ever you see a blue underlined line in a post it is a link to another web site.

In my post #43 there is a link to "Can You Run It?"

There is also a link to my diagnostic page which includes instructions on using the Event Viewer.

Sounds like you could have a hardware problem.

You can try using Safe Mode:

Can you get into Safe Mode?

    petandnick Techie7 New Member

yes i can but i probly wont be able to run the game when in safe mode

    jephree ¨*·.¸ «.·°·..·°·.» ¸.·*¨

Safe Mode is for diagnostics. In this case read your Event Viewer. etc.

well this is weird i've looked at it in safe mode an normal start-up they don't say anything at all about my screen or display.

Are there any errors listed? If so post the Event ID & the Source & the Description listed under Properties. (right click).

By the way it's the end of my day but will be back tomorrow.

You might try installing that ATI driver in Safe Mode.

hi, sorry i was sleeping(we all have too at some point :p)
umm anther thing i have noticed is the audio also goes out when the screen does, this computer was connected to a t.v which would of install a.v out drivers, which it might be trying to switch too seeing as in the hardware thing i have two drivers under monitor

Well without re-reading this whole thread I will try to sum up what I remember.

The driver from NEC (which is the driver that you should use) is installed but it is two years old and some game is telling you to update?

The latest driver from ATI does not recognize your hardware?

Then there were possible hardware issues.

NEC offers very little on line support outside of drivers.

There is an updated BIOS but I'm not sure if you want to go there.

The BIOS update indicates it is for the running of XP.

The default OS on that model was Vista.

Do you know if NEC has installed any diagnostic programs on that laptop?

the game wasnt telling me to update it, it was just turning off the screen and audio, as i said in my above thread the computer has been connected to a t.v via a.v cables which would have triggerd the computers install thing for a driver that would allow it to put the display through the t.v, in device manager i have 2 monitor things... is that right?

regarding the NEC diagnostic program i am unaware, an i don't think so.
