Cant even work on the computer typing because of that error continually popping Yes , windows 2000, No Burner/ Compaq Presario Thank you in advance. Chris Koechig
Windows version? I'm assuming Windows 2000 is that correct? CD burner make and model? Has the CD burner worked in the past?
I guess im not sure how to navigate this site Thanks for answering my post, i also edited it because I dont know all this yet.
Did you say you don't have a cd burner? You need a cd burner and software to save to cd. If you only have a reader it won't work. It's not quite the same as floppys.
OObviously, I am not an IT Tech... I purchased 700 MB cd to clear offf the hard drive for space. The cd label says recordable. Do I need to do something additional? Also, did you read the problem with this unrelenting pop up, I cannot type a word w/ o this going spastic/ please help This is surely crazy/ as we write ia minute I have below over 15 popups saying program error, nothseems to work
I came upon this site because i was desperate for help. needing system for work etc. After reading inquiries & reponses, I now have a Keen appreciation for the IT Person for sure..
The cd is fine, I meant the drive you put it in. Is it a burner or a reader? Sometimes it will say on the front of it CD/R or CD/RW, you need a CD/RW. If the system isnt recognising it, it's got a problem. I don't know the answer to the error you're getting but someone here will.
Tassie Devil. Yes. I see clearly Now!! Thank you for showing me the difference. I suppose these off the shelf 'puters just have a reader. Thanks again! This is very helpful. Can you refer me to someone who can help with the posted error pop up? Thanks
Hi, With regard to your error... I had a look around and probably the best thing to do first is follow these instructions and tell me what the scan finds...You will need your Windows 2000 CD to hand. Click Start Click Run Type sfc /scannow
Thanks. I tried the sfc / scannow and it just goes away, nothing occurs, Do I have to have the cd in place? I do not have the win 2000 cd because I took the computer to work and the it guy installe a new hard drive and installed 2000 himself. ANy Ideas? I have spaces between.. sfc / scannow Thanks for your time
Please help with the error fault, I asked you earlier to guide me to a resolution , not sure if you got that message.. Its kinda like being tortured. please help
"ANy Ideas? I have spaces between.. sfc / scannow" The proper command is sfc /scannow There is a space following the c but no space following the /
