Make & model of computer? & or motherboard? This is assuming that you have on-board audio as opposed to a Sound Card? Or make & model of Sound Card? Also perhaps check: Start/Run/ dxdiag | Sound
k its amd athalon model is h2602 im pretty sure i have a sound card i know the names and all that of the audio devices but the guy who fixed it also put in a new disk drive id ont know if that has anythin to do with it
eMachines? Unfortunatly they do not have drivers on site. They do suggest: Also Check: Start/Run/ dxdiag | Sound What is listed as Device?
yea its an e machine ....k theres a list -legacy audio driver -unimodem half-duplex audio device and i also have this everest program that says i have an sis 7012 audio device and yea i checked that thing u gave me before and i tested the stuff and it all failed
Are Legacy & Unimodem listed under DXDIAG? Is SiS7012 listed there? You said: "im pretty sure i have a sound card i know the names and all that of the audio devices" All the above are on-board Audio (no card). Just trying to verify. Anyway I would trust Everest: & so: http://www.techspot.com/drivers/driver/file/information/5371/SiS7012-Audio-Driver-v-v112d/
yea i already tried that link and downloaded that and tried installin it and thn halfway through it said plug and play was messed or somethin and thn it exited the setup yea i gues si dont have a sound card sorry i aint that smart on comps lol and also none of them werre listed under the dxdiag but they are listed in the device maanager under ...sound video and game controllers
What is your Operating System? XP? etc. You may need to try that install again & get the exact error message. & or get the exact ID of your audio device. If you just want to keep trying hit or miss: here is a Legacy for XP: http://www.soundcard-drivers.com/drivers/60/60711.htm Login: drivers Password: all _____________ Was that everything listed under sound video and game controllers? -legacy audio driver -unimodem half-duplex audio device It may help to remove the legacy driver before trying to reinstall. Also it may help to temporarily Disable the unimodem device.
my operating system is windows xp home edition k i tried to install it again and the error messages are as follows 1st one -in the blue at the top of the error message it states update driver for plug and play devices -thn inside the error message it just has this -536870397 2nd error message is as follows -it states inside the error message that...fail to install audio driver for windows xp...setup will now exit and that link you gave me i downloaded it but i dont know which program to use to install it and such ?
That error appears because an existing driver is being found. You need to uninstall all existing audio drivers. If the SiS 7012 is not in the Device Manager I am not sure how you can do that. In the Device Manager: You can uninstall the Legacy Driver & then when you re-install follow the prompts such as: I know what driver I want: & then point to the downloaded driver.
Further searching shows your error is quite common with the SiS 7012. You first off need to uninstall all Audio Drivers you may have. Then try SiS again. _______________________________ This is assuming that you do not have a multimedia card. If you do it should definitly show up under the Device Manager sound video and game controllers
