    Download Aida32 here, its free and can tell us more. When you run it look under computer/summary and see what it says in multimedia. http://www.majorgeeks.com/download181.html

    I will be back in a few hours so if anyone else can have a look, jump in.

    what is the audio problem; exactly?

    have you tried updating thru device manager;
    start/ run/ devmgmt.msc
    click on audio device; click to update drivers?

    also in the device manager see if there are more than one audio device;
    as in card as well as on-board (you may need to shut down the on-board)

    also check windows update (custom option) there are drivers there if available.

    also having re-installed XP are you going to re-install SP1 or SP2?

    there are problems with audio cards & clean installs; here is a thread:

    sound card clean install

    also have you tried removing the card & re-installing?

    Maybe you should use this site for what it was intended for. I VERY much appreciated the help i got from the operators of this site,especially considering ...-ITS Free!
    I posted my problem only hours ago,..and with theyre help,..already fixed my p.c.
    I suggest you stick to GENUINE inquiries,..instead of emailing me with your so called"mocking humor"...You should be worried @your video card,...instead of whats going on w/ my postings....
    THANKS,D-A-L..!!
