My PC currently has 2 rear 3.1 c usb ports. I was wondering if this is a good choice for a hub for expansion. I figure the card reader may be handy as I'm into photography also. If there is a better choice, please let me know. TIA

What is "this"? Did you mean to put a link there?

You really need to decide for yourself based on what will be most convenient for you. For sure, rear USB ports tend to be a pain to get to - that's why most cases have front USB ports.

If you are going to get a hub to connect to a rear port, I recommend you make sure it supports all the USB type connectors you use. Also, make sure the hub comes with its own external power supply so you don't put too much demand on the computer's port.
