    Hi,

I hope someone is out there who can advise.

I honestly did have this operating previously (Public shared folders) but cannot fathom how on earth I got it working then yet I can't now.
    Age (mine!)?

I have a Windows 7 desktop wired to the Sky router.
I have a Vista laptop connected wirelessly.

    On both pc's I have a workgroup - HOMEGROUP.

However, I cannot connect to either through the other.

The network map on Win 7 shows laptop (HOME-LT) but when I try to connect it says that "HOME-LT is inaccessible"and so on.
The HOME-PC1 is viewable via the laptop but when I try to connect (name and password - both correct) I get a message saying something about a problem with the server.

I have tried articles on line but nothing seems to help.
Should I delete all existing and try again
    If so how do?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Regards,

    Gary

    Hi,

My sincere apologies for not returning to this post before now.
Life things sort of took over and my query became irrelevant.

I have since obtained Win 10 for my desktop pc and purchased a new laptop (Win 10) and a TV.
I am amazed to find I can play videos from the pc direct on the TV so that will do for me.
I did try the link when provided but to no avail.
Many thanks for your kind advice anyway.

    All the best,

    Gary
