Printing works fine in the administrator account, but not in the limited or guest accounts. My printer is a Lexmark X75 PrinTrio. When trying to print in limited or guest accounts this message appears:
"Unable to communicate with printer"
Cables and connections must be okay as printing in the administrator account can be done.
Recently, I installed Norton Anti-Virus 2004 Professional. To do this, I had to uninstall Norton Anti-Virus 2004 Pro, uninstall all of the Microsoft HotFixes, re-install Norton Anti-Virus 2004 Pro, and download and install all of the pertinent Microsoft HotFixes.
Thank You.
Guest accounts are a bad idea and best disabled.
I agree, but they are necessary for my pc as other people use it and tend to incur problems on the machine if their capabilities are not restricted.Originally Posted by HippyWarlock
Anywho, thank you for responding. I was able to get the printer to work by uninstalling and reinstalling the printer software. I had done this a number of times before and it never worked. Of course, the copying and scanning functions still do not work. Oh well, I've heard many a complaint about Lexmark products, so I almost feel fortunate that just the printer function is working. The Lexmark online tech support is miserable at best which seems to confirm the notion that Lexmark is a poorly run company.
I've learned my lesson and Lexmark will not be my brand of choice for my next printing/scanning/copying product.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help. : - (
