    Windows Media Player

    I am not able to stream mpgs using Windows Media Player 9. Use to be able to click on pictures to start and now am only able to save as target or sometimes intermintenatly close Windows Media Player 9 and click on picture again after 20 seconds or more and then it will play. Called Microsoft Techs and they couldnt help me resolve this problem. I uninstalled and reinstalled the software and have run Symantec Corporate Virus and Adware and Shreddar. Have kept all my security settings at level to download streams also.

    Anyone have a clue?

    I don't know much about this stuff but, as it's been a while without anyone replying, here's a couple of things that I would look at in Media Player to see if fiddling with the settings helps:

    Tools menu > Options dialog > Performance tab:
    Switch between Detect Connection Speed and Choose Connection Speed;
    Switch between Use Default Buffering and Buffer 20 Seconds Of Content.

    Tools menu > Options dialog > Network tab:
    Ensure that all of the protocols are enabled.

    You should also check with your IT / IS / MIS guys that your network is not configured to block streaming media (I'm assuming that you're at work because you mentioned Symantec Anti-Virus Corporate Edition).
