Exclamation Windows XP will not boot properly...

When i turn on my desktop PC (windows XP pro)
It boots so far until it halts and ask's how do i want to start windows... normal, safe mode, command prompt... etc...

No matter what option you choose, after about 20seconds a blue screen appears... with white writing...

' A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

    PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware of software manufacturer for any windows updates you might need.

If problem continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Optionf, and then select safe mode.

    Technical information:

    *** STOP: 0x00000050 (0x80097000,0x00000001,0xFC8D507D,0x00000000) '

Ive tried some of these things... but i carnt get windows on AT ALL not even in safe mode... no matter what option i choose that screen comes on and the only thing i can do is turn off the PC...

Please Help Me Fix The Problem!

    Thank you.
    Chris

    Hi,

Have you made any hardware or driver changes recently to coincide with this?

He is getting a hardware related error.

Try running one stick of memory at a time. Is this the memory that came with your computer or did you build this computer yourself? How old is the computer? What is the make/model of your computer? Does your computer beep at all during boot up?
