    Question No A: Drive, totally disappeard

    ugh...just when i thought my problems were over....i go to open something from a disk and no A: drive..PERFECT!OK, so i right clicked on start and hit explore, no A: drive, i tryed opening from my computer through many things, even through word, but no success, i could use help, thank you all for your time

    Read my article in the 'Members PC Help Articles' forum board. It's explains how to get ino the BIOS and auto-detect your drives. Once you've got into the BIOS, you can't actually use the same option to detect floppy drives but you should find that under the first BIOS page, it will list the drives that it has found and that includes a section for floppy drives. It should read '3.5" 1.44Mb floppy' or something similar.

    If not, the cause may be 1 of 3 things:

    Loose or faulty data cable to the drive;
    Loose or faulty power cable to the drive;
    Faulty drive that needs replacing.

    You'll probably need to open the case and have a look.
