Kindle Combatibility
I received a Kindle ( UK Type) and a online Ebook token for Waterstones for Christmas. The problem is they are not compatible. Kindle uses a Mobi format and Waterstones an Epub format. Waterstones also have a DRM ( Digital Rights Management ) suffix as in ACSM. I understand that this suffix is an indication of my purchase from Waterstones but it prevents me from changing the Epub format to the Mobi format using a Calibre software. Can anything be done to allow me to read my Waterstones purchases on my Kindle??? The same problem applies to borrowing Ebooks from my local library so a solution woud be helpful there as well. Here's hoping some genius out there has already sorted it!! Thank you for patiently reading this. Stron.

Hi Strom
Looking on the review here Kindle Touch vs Nook Simple Touch: E-Readers Go Eye to Eye - International Business Times
Suggests this: the Nook Simple Touch makes use of the Nook Reading app to sync what you're reading to your other devices so you can put down one device and keep reading where you left off on another device.
So is it possible to do the same with Kindle?
I know kindle have a app that allows you to manage your account on your PC. So can this app be used in the same way?

Thank you Jim 23 for the reply. I think the North American Versions of the Kindle have a different system format than the European versions. This makes interchanging difficult because of the DRM type of suffix which usually contains an ACSM file. Ive tried various freeware software but it has become a long winded conversion. Amazon may, well in the future, release books in a multitude of formats, hopefully!! But thanks for the input, every little bit helps. Stron
