When I shut down the following error message appears

"The instruction at "0x0040f2d9" referenced memory at 0x02885008 the memory could not be "read" click on ok to terminate the programme". If I click on ok the computer continues its shutdown sequence as normal. If I don't click on ok, after a short delay the message disappears and the computer shuts down as normal. All my programmes appear to be working alright and I have done a scan using Microsoft Security Essentials. I have also checked that my hard drive is not going to fail using Fix it Utilities 12 professional and it reports all ok. How do I get rid of the error message ?

I would check that out to see if it resolves the problem.
