I cant access my Microsoft Essentials or Super anti Spyware programmes. I get the message 'You do not have permission to access this programme' Ive tried running Spybot and have apparently removed a trojan but the problem persists and i am worried I will be at risk without some protection. What can I do please?? I also get a message asking to block or unblock Windows Explorer to which I click unblock but this seems to have no effect. Are all these things connected to the same problem??

Thank you Jim23 for the prompt reply, My problem got steadily worse just after I posted it. After a while I couldn't even get on line - so off to the friendly computer shop and the end result is I have just got it back, nearly all my data gone and a reinstall of Win XP. so I have spent the last day or so trying to get every thing back on. Luckily I took the advice of someone on this site to have a back up hard drive so most of my personal stuff is OK. Many thanks again for all the sterling work you all do here at D-A-L.

I'm glad to see your back up and running.
I'm sorry you weren't able to access the net and D-A-Ls excellent Malware removal team.
I'm pretty sure the could have helped. But with a fresh install of XP and your hard drive backup.
I expect the PC is running quite well now and you've go rid of some clutter you don't need.

My laptop is infected with 4 viruces and it doesnt let me open anything and they told me that i need to clean up the hole computer how can i do that
