Administrative tools do not open...in Windows XP Professional.

In Control Panel Administrative Tools do not open.... computer says to register its component.

    Hi GRANPINTO,

The first method to try is SFC (System File Checker)
Start Menu > Run ,type in the box SFC /SCANNOW (there is a space between SFC and the forward slash)
You may need your XP SP3 install CD to get the missing files if so indicated.
If you don't have one ,I advise to make one ,but that's a whole other chapter.
Most often the file discrepancies are corrected during the check.

Administrative Tools is just a folder in the Control panel that contains shortcuts to the following items: (Shortcuts are listed with their targets)
    Component Services: C:\WINDOWS\system32\Com\comexp.msc
    Computer Management: %SystemRoot%\system32\compmgmt.msc /s
    Data Sources: %SystemRoot%\system32\odbcad32.exe
    Event Viewer: %SystemRoot%\system32\eventvwr.msc /s
    Local Security Policy: %SystemRoot%\system32\secpol.msc /s
    Performance: %SystemRoot%\system32\perfmon.msc /s
    Services: %SystemRoot%\system32\services.msc /s

See also [Windows XP] "Administrative Tools" folder is empty
Try the zip file first, if not successful ,you may have to do it manually.

    Pete.
