I have a Dell computer running windows XP. It has always worked fine but recently I tried to do a backup and it won't do it, I also tried a system restore and it won't do that either, I need help please.

What software are you using to backup and restore with?
What are you backing up to and restoring from?
What have you done recently that may have caused this? Did you add or remove any software or hardware, upgrade memory or hard drive, install device drivers?

I'm using the XP backup utility in system tools and backing up to an ultra external hard drive. Only new software and drivers is for a camera for skype. I tried to do a system restore also for 5 0r 6 dates and none work.

What error do you get when you try the backup?

No error it just say's - Failed
