I tried restarting my IBM thinkpad Windows XP laptop earlier and when I tried to boot it up it wouldn't load up in normal mode. It works in safe mode but that's the only way I can get it to boot. I got a blue screen on the start up attempts and I believe it said:
0x0000007E (COxC0000005 0xF78F315E 0xF7BD864 0xF793D560)
kdcom.dll-address F78F315E base at F2852000
Date stamp 4e408293
Thank you.

[SOLVED] Desperate can't get into Normal/Safe Mode kdcom.dll problem - Tech Support Forum
He figured out that one of the Ram sticks was bad by testing it in the different slots.
I got it to work somehow using system restore but a few days later it is back in same situation as before. Oh and each time before it fails to restart it says that the sounddrivers are missing
Thank you.
It still won't boot. System restore doesn't work.
I would suggest reset the bios default, then reinstall the latest laptop chipset driver and reboot.
Next is install the latest audio driver again.
Hope this helps!

looks like you're having hardware issue.
To solve it, try isolation. Remove un-critical peripheral from your computer. Try only, motherboard, processor, RAM, PSU, if you have onboard video remove extra video card, then power it up.
Try adding your peripherals one at time so see what is causing the problem.
Option - Installation of OS in other HDD
If you have extra HDD try clean install it there. this would eliminate software and hardware issue.
hope it helps.
