I reinstalled Windows XP Home Edition and Now I can't Get an Internet Connection. It says I am Missing my Ethernet Controller. Where can I download it and How can I get it if I can't get online at all?? PLZ Help??

Is this a proprietary machine? (ie; Brand_Name - Gateway, eMachine, Dell, Hewlett Packard, IBM, Lenovo, Compaq, etc.)

If it is, please post the Make, and the exact Model Number. If there is a Service Tag, post this info as well.

If the machine is a custom built Desktop, what is the Make, Model, and Rev. of the motherboard?


If your machine is Intel based (but you must be "online" in order to use it);

Go to; Intel Drivers

Click on Check your system for the latest updates.

Motherboard. Click on Chipset. Post the information listed (on the right) after South Bridge exactly as it is listed. (example; South Bridge: Intel 82801GB ICH7)

Display. Post the information listed (on the right) under Windows Video and PCI / AGP Video. (Device Description).

Multimedia. Post the information listed (on the right) under PCI / PnP Audio exactly as it is listed.

Network. Post the information listed (on the right) under PCI / PnP Network exactly as it is listed.

If you are having brand name computer like Dell, please try install the mobo chipset driver first and must reboot the PC, then install the LAN card driver.
