Unable to open clipboard - Runtime Error
While trying to copy/paste from a browser-based application interface a user is getting the following error:
"Run-time error 20027"
"Unable to open clipboard"
Then the application/page hangs on the above error and we have to start over. I've searched and come up empty regarding why this is happening.
We've rebooted.
The user is a local admin on the workstation.
I've opened the clipboard and deleted all contents on it.
I've closed all other applications while trying it.
Copy/paste function works fine for everything else.
Windows XP Pro SP3
IE8
Java v6 build 25 is up to date
Office 2003 SP3
Any guidance would be appreciated!
Thanks,
pataz

Is anyone else using the same application? If not, I would suspect it as the cause of the problem, especially since cut and paste works everywhere else.
Is there an update available for the application?
What browser and version is being used?

Yes there are other users of the application and they are all working fine. But they are using IE6. In this case it is IE8 with all MS patches on a recently built machine. There is no update to the application. Their support hasn't been very helpful but I do have yet another call with them today so we'll see. They are inferring it may be an ActiveX issue. Thanks for the reply, Ztruker!

I spoke to support again this morning and finally got the right answer/person on the line! There was an ActiveX control that was corrupted. We removed the corrupted file from C:\Windows\Downloaded Program Files, logged back into the site, it prompted us to install the ActiveX component and once installed everything worked fine.
Thanks again for your time and consideration!
