so, as my research tells me, I am not the only one who has ever delete their Multimedia Audio Controller. I would greatly appreciate any help. I'm am completely lost.

How did you delete it?
What is the make and model of your computer?
Have you tried a System Restore to a date before you deleted it?
Start / Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System restore

Go to the Dell support web site: Welcome to Home User Support, click on Drivers & Downloads then click on Enter a tag. Enter your Service Tag number.
Download and install the Audio driver for your computer. If that doesn't fix it then download and install the Chipset driver.
The pic below if from the Dell support site for a Dimension 4600, which may or may not be the same as for a 4600i, so use your Service Tag to get an exact match to your computer.

I downloaded it and when I try to open the file a window pops up that says there are no files to download, go to drivers and downloads to select files. what do I do?
-
What exactly did you download? What is the service code of your computer so I can check it against what you got.
-
I clicked the download button for the audio driver and the intel driver, amd both also show up as the same file.
Service Code: 4FDGX41
-
The Audio file should have been R94481.exe.
The Chipset file should have been R58201.exe.

Once downloaded, just double click on each one in turn, Audio first, and see if that fixes the problem.

That is exactly what i did before, when I double-click it Dell Driver Downloads open and I get the message that says there are no drivers to download. both files show as Dell Driver Download Manager
