I am running XP on my samsung gt8650xt laptop, untill a few months back it was working fine but now when i boot my computer it takes a very long time doing anything. All i can hear is a constant whirring that i know means that whilst it is doingt this means i cannot use it. Now it has evolved and after a while of whirring it goes to a blue screen and says that it is now dumping and that it will restart. Any ideas anyone?

Ooooh, whirring? I would say a piece of your hardware is/has failing/failed. Being a laptop, unless you know what your doing, you need to have it looked at professionally.

Send us a copy of the error message that it gives you on the BSOD (blue screen of death).

Also, if possible, if you can get it to boot, post the contents of the memory dump (type %SystemRoot%\Minidump in the run box and paste it here)

With that info, we might be able to get to the bottom of your problem.
