My computer was on nd working after it fell off my bed this morning and then about an hour later it turned itself off. It was plugged in still so not charge run out. i tried to turn it bak on and it took ages and had to run system check ups etc bt now it has loaded and the screen is blank. Its making no sounds that are out of the ordinary it just isnt coming up with anything except the screen saver, toolbar and mouse. what can i do? i need this laptop for tomorow for college! help! it isnt loading anything and crashes every time...

Boot to Safe Mode by pressing F8 during boot. Once there select Safe Mode with Command Prompt.

Type chkdsk /r and press Enter. You will see the following messages:

The type of the file system is NTFS.
Cannot lock current drive.

Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another
process. Would you like to schedule this volume to be
checked the next time the system restarts? (Y/N)

Type Y and press Enter.

Shutdown and reboot. Chkdsk will start. It can take an hour or more to run depending on the size of your hard drive. Be patient and let it complete undisturbed.
