Audio Problem
Up until now, my audio was working just fine.
I was doing a little house cleaning and removed a program which I no longer use, it had a similar icon to my audio driver and grrrr I deleted it.
I managed to find it here upload and opened it, but my computer won't finish the load without a Microsoft bus driver ... this is not a bus joke ... seriously, so I found a MBD and opened up the zip file...it gave me two folders titled Win2K3 and Win2K_XP ---- where do I put them ?
Oh bother this is so complicated.

Your best bet would be to do a System Restore to before you deleted the file(s).
What is the make and model of the computer? What is the make and number of the Audio card.
As for the two folders, typically you place them in a temp folder or a folder you normally download things to. Inside those folders there will be one or more files with a filetype of .inf.
You would start Device Manager, then double click on your sound device.
Click the Driver tab then click Update driver.
Select No not this time and click Next.
Select Install from a list or specific location and click Next.
Uncheck Search removable media, check Include this location in your search and click Next.
Navigate to the folder Win2K_XP folder then click Next or GO (don't remember which).
Click Next as needed until the driver is installed.
Reboot and see what happens.

Thanks Rich.
I had quite a day of it yesterday. Eventually in a fit of desperation, I look skyward and cried out 'Jesus please help me.' While I had been looking around, I had seen Realteck C97 and suddenly this was foremost in my mind. I decided, 'Why not, what have I got to loose' Found a free copy, uploaded it and .... then as usual the request to reboot. I had no idea how loud the settings were...and BOOOM...the indicator that my audio was back.
Having spent a few years without audio in the old days, I really relived the moment, and have a new appreciation of how a world without sound, music, lectures might have been, not that we would have known if that was all that had been.
Peace,

Most any experience we learn from is a good thing. Glad you have it fixed.
