    Can't delete empty folders

I have some empty folders in the Recycle Bin.
The Recycle Bin can't delete them, CCleaner cannot delete them, and Unlocker does; but they are replaced immediately with more of the same.
All that changes is the numbers (in the file name) get larger.
Not a major issue, but I like to choose what to keep and what not to keep. Just got this thing back to normal, so little patience for this sort of annoyance.
    Suggestions appreciated

You might try Safe Mode. Do you have Norton? I don't know about the newer version but the older ones had a "Protected" recycle bin that would not allow you to delete files in it.

No I don't have Norton. Though a 750 fastback would certainly assuage the wish for 2 wheels, though I suspect we are not talking about the same Norton.
How do I start in Safe? Been so long since I did that I have forgotten how.

If not for the 8 inches of snow outside right now, I would go for a 2-wheeler about now too.

    Have you scanned for malware?

    Hi Digerati
I tried Safe Mode as Administrator, the Recycle Bin was empty.
Ditto as me. The files were visible but once again Access Denied.
The message cited different numbers than what appear in the Recycle Bin eg: I have Dd48, Dd49 and Dd50 - I was denied access to Dd56! Unlocker once again offered its services, but this only produces duplicates with higher numbers, so I declined.
Original location is given as D:\Recyclers, if that is any help.
8" of snow, wow, despite a thunderstorm yesterday we are in drought here. Global redistribution of water would be nice.

Are you sure of the name of the that folder? That is, is it \Recyclers with an "s".

    Check out the screen shot.
BTW the last series of scans (Spybot, mbam, Avast and Super) all showed no nasties.

Okay, so it is Recycler and not Recyclers (that is, no "s") - Note the backslash before the S-1-5... . So that is good.

Then did you try the steps in the MS link I provided?

If that does not work, then just to be sure your system is free of malware, I think it best if one of our malware removal experts take a look. Please read this then start a new topic here.

    Hi Digerati,
That MS link looks like it will take a bit more time than I have atm, life is a little hectic!
I have printed the MS Stuff, will attempt it when I have some time, and post results.
As for malware, I only just got cleared of a rootkit scare! People may start rumors about me and Broni!

Well, if Broni cleared you then I am sure your system is clean. Keep us posted.
