ialmdev5.DLL Issue. Please help~!
I keep getting the 'blue screen of death' saying there was a problem in the file:ialmdev5.DLL
Page_in_nonpage_area
The very first time it happened, I was just on the web and it crashed. And so, I had to re-install my computer. Before this happened, my Sims 3 games worked perfectly fine, but after it crashed and got re-installed, my sims game crashes when I go into create sims mode.
Anyway, I Don't know if i installed the drivers right after i re-installed it, i just inserted every CD that came with the computer :/
Now, it only crashes when it comes to the game, other than that my computer works wonderfully.
System:
Microsoft Windows XP
professional
Version 2002
sp2
Computer:
Inter(R)
pentium(R) 4CPU 3.00ghz
2.99GHz, 1.99GB of RAM
physical Adress extension
The sims 3 min requirements:
2.0 GHz P4 processor or equivalent
1 GB RAM
128 MB Video Card with support for Pixel Shader 2.0
The latest version of DirectX 9.0c
Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2
At least 6.1 GB of hard drive space with at least 1 GB of additional space for custom content and saved game
I unistalled the Drivers under 'display drivers' in device manager. I planned on reinstalling from intels drivers and downloads. But it says file cannot be loaded :/ Nevermind, I just reinstalled it with the wizard crap.
Service tag:8579b1

Also, when I play without going into create sims mode, It suddenly freezes and everything gets REALLY crappy and this pop up comes out saying that ialmdev5.DLL stopped working normally. :/
I have to restart.

ialmdev5.dll is part of the driver set for your motherboard chipset.
Try booting to the Windows Advanced Options Menu (often called the Safe Mode menu) and selecting Enable VGA Mode. This will run your computer with the default VGA driver instead of the one specific to your onboard video chipset.
Is your computer a home built or a OEM (Dell, HP, etc.)? If it's OEM then you can go to their web site and download the latest chipset driver for your machine. If it's a custom built then you need to identify the mother board make and model then look for the chipset driver at their web site.
Here is one that is very much like what you are seeing and how it was resolved: [FIXED] Problem with ialmdev5.dll help please!!

My Computer is a DELL. I'm sorry If I sound stupid, but I don't know how to boot 'Windows Advanced Options Menu'. Can you please tell me how that works?
And I've already tried updating my Drivers, Actually, it says it doesn't need any update and that there is no better version than the one i already have.I also tried re-installing it but it's no good either.
I ran the 'Belarc Advisor' and this is what I got, I didn't know what exactly to copy and paste, so i just copied the Board, serial number, etc like from the link you gave me;;
Board: Dell Inc. 0WG233
Serial Number: ..CN1374063V05CV.
Bus Clock: 800 megahertz
BIOS: Dell Inc. A07 03/31/2006
System Service Tag: 85795B1

Nope it didn't work.
The Blue screen didn't come out, but this did::

it has happened before.
I don't get it, I know my computer meets the minimum requirements for the game. it used to work PERFECTLY before it crashed and I had to format my pc. After I had to do that, the game crashes :/
Could it have screwed up my video card or something? Or i didn't install some requirement after formating it?

How do I clean the registry?
Also, I did a scan from the intel website, and it told me the updates I needed. I needed to update my bios and stuff. So far, the sims 3 has been working fine. But i'm terrified of making the graphics higher and it would crash on me D:
D: Hey why did you delete your post? :/
