there is no support for that model on XP. The "O" references PVR2 for XP. Still deciphering......
Do you have an nVidia video card? If so, what Model? (EVEREST will tell me as well.) Given this, ignore POST 10 and follow this;
Once it's finished loading and is running, click on the Report Wizard in the Menu Bar. Save all hardware related pages (the default) to a HTML file. (It will save it to C:\Program Files\Lavalys\EVEREST Home Edition\Reports by default, unless you redirect it.)
Attach the report to your next post. Compress (zip) the Everest Report if necessary.
Attach that zipped document to your next posting. (When posting, click on Advanced, and just below the posting box you'll see "Additional Options", and within that, "Attach Files". Click on "Manage Attachments" and follow the prompts. Browse to the file and choose UPLOAD.)
Hi Dan
Everest is now AIDA64.
That site offers a "free" driver scan and update.
Is that what you want?
A link please.
Here is a scan of the original Invoice, all still the same except video card which was replaced early on, with a better one. Don't know what, maybe Everest?AIDA can help there
Is that site safe http://www.lavalys.com/ trustworthy? I am wary of "free scans."
"According to this; showroom there is no support for that model on XP." Should have done my research better. This thing is not suited to 7, and I am not going to use Vista, two lemons could breed.
I look forward to your reply.

Reason: Additional info
Everest is totally safe. I've been using it for years (plus many many other people). The link I provided for this is on my private web space at D-A-L. Please use the program as I indicated in Post #13. This will provide all the (hardware) information for your "bits of this and bits of that" machine. Please ensure the LeadTek device is connected before running Everest.
The most important one is the Chipset. Download it, and run it. (It can't hurt.) Then immediately reboot the machine if it doesn't on its own. (This should be ran immediately after the XP install. If it hasn't, this may be a contributor to your initial problem.)
Hi Dan,
Well done finding those drivers, last time I went looking Gigabyte did not recognise the MB.
However, when installed I could only open 2 tabs in Firefox, ERDNT hung, and I had to hold the Start button in to shut it down. Even the Task Manager took too long to shut it down!
Also that link is no longer good, Error 404.
After reverting successfully with ERDNT things are back to normal. (ERUNT was recommended by someone on this forum, I would not be without it).
I did, during the Windows install run the SP 2 disk, then installed everything from the MB CD, except the Yahoo toolbar. I had to, without the LAN I could not get online to fetch Windows updates. So the drivers were installed early in the process. Some drivers were updated by Microsoft, out of desperation, but I have since overwritten these with better ones.
The driver that caused problems was the Leadtek one, and you have identified that it does not support XP, so I think that issue is decided. I have a dongle en route from eBay, and can't wait. I checked and it does support XP, yippeee!
I have attached the Everest reports, pdf was the only format that would successfully upload. Txt was to big, a doc was 97 pages so I didn't even try that.
Let me know what you think, these should have info re the Video card.
Just for the record, that is the only warranty work I have had done. Apart from the naff little Logitech speakers, blew up 2 or 3 pairs of those, before getting better speakers!
Not bad for a bitza I think, will turn 4 later this month, and still goes well.
Also I have yet to install the disk for my Acer G235H monitor, but I do have ATI CCC installed, and I don't think that will alter much.
Look forward to hearing from you.
