Ok on my work computer I decided to move the my documents folder as well as the favorites folder & desktop folder (as well as a few additional ones) elsewhere and keep all of that in the same folder on the root of the drive that I believe I called my docs. Anyway I know that on XP that the only way I can reassign those folders is in the registry. I found the appropriate keys (I have done this on XP on my computer) & tried to point them to the new folder however when I log off or reboot the path is reset to the default which is under /documents and setting/administrator. Any idea why this is happening and how to correct it? Might the fact that the profile was renamed be causing that (it wasn't me that did that)? I am the system admin on this computer.

The path for the registry keys that I tried to modify is: HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Exp lorer\Shell Folders

How to change the default location of "My Documents" folder

I've already done this. Now I'm want to change the folder for the desktop & IE bookmarks. This setting doesn't apply for that.
