Attempting to install Service Pack 3

During SP3 setup I get message "could not backup Registry Key HKCR\ADOX.column.2.8." Access Denied.
I downloaded and installed the subinacl.exe then downloaded reset.zip. I immediately got the message " Adobe Reader could not open reset[1]zip. does not support file type or file damaged. May have been sent as an email and wasn't correctly decoded." This stopped me from running the reset.cmd file.

    Thanks,

    Jim

You need to unzip the file first. It's a compressed file (.zip) that contains one or more other files. Once you extract the original file/files, then you can run it.

Move the file to it's own folder, then you should be able to right click on the .zip file and select Extract All. If you get a popup about this being an unexpected security risk, click on Continue. The Extraction Wizard will start where you can specify where to extract the files. I would extract to the same folder the .zip file is in.

    Common sense, indeed!

    Thanks so much, Rich!

If you continue to have problems you can try the SP 3 download instead of going through automatic updates.
