I'm back from a complete motherboard failure (previous thread). My PC is repaired enough so that I can use it by cannibalizing an older PC's motherboard. Unfortunately the person who did the repairs (a complete computer expert, no sarcasm) put nVidia as the sound driver.

The problem: I cannot hear anything unless I turn my speakers up to maximum volume, and then I can barely hear some of the audio I am playing (I have extremely good hearing).


Steps I've Taken:
*I've made sure my speakers are hooked up correctly.
*I've put all possible audio settings from Volume Control to maximum.

We can't really help you without knowing more about the system? Is it not suppose to be nVidia? It sounds like you need to go to the motherboard's manufacturer's website & download the appropriate drivers. We can help you with that if you tell us the make/model of your current motherboard. Please note that if this is a different model motherboard then what you had before you will need to reinstall windows or you will more than likely experience driver and registry conflicts which might be the cause of your current problem. Also note that you cannot use a installation disk from a computer manufacturer such as dell unless it is from the same manufacturer.
