Hello!
Need you help.
My PC keep on restarting. Here is what happens.
1. BIOS will load properly.
2. Windows xp will start and show its logo, with the status bar rolling.
3. will freeze for a while then show the BSOD in less than a minute, so BSOD is not identifiable.
4. restart. same cycle continues.
Please help.
thanks
First, you need to stop XP from constantly rebooting when it encounters an error. See if you can boot into Safe Mode. If successful, shut off auto reboot if BSOD is encountered by following these instructions:
1. Click Start > Control Panel > System
2. Advanced
3. Start up and Recovery > Settings
4. System Failure remove check for "Automatically restart"
Now, if you get a BSOD, it should freeze on that screen, and give you time to read the actual error.
thanks for your comments and suggestion.
I cannot go to control panel since BSOD don't allow me to log on.
Anyway here what I've done:
I used ubuntu to backup my drive C: then reformat it. everything is now new and working good.
That's why I suggested trying Safe Mode.I cannot go to control panel since BSOD don't allow me to log on.
Anyway, I am glad you got it going. Understand that BSODs are typically caused by hardware, or hardware driver issues. That's why reformatting and reinstalling does not always work, or fix permanently. I hope yours holds.
Thanks for the followup.
