Windows XP doesn't reboot after MS Windows XP repair install

Hey guys and gals, got a question...

My MS support contact advised me to use the Operating System Cd...Microsoft Windows
XP Pro SP3 to repair my system...

Everything went well on the CD install until it rebooted...

Now I'm looking at a black screen that states "We apologize for the inconvinience, but
    Windows did not start successfully..."

You know, the screen with the 'Start Windows Normally, Safe Mode, Safe Mode with Networking...etc" and the 30 sec countdown...

And this cycles endlessly. I've tried all the options etc yet to no avail...
And the only way to shut down in manually turn off...

    This has me totally puzzled...

    System Info...

    Computer Manu: Dell
Computer Model: Precision Work Station 360
Processor: Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.80 GHZ
    Motherboard: Dell OW2563
    Phy Ram: 2.37 GB
OS Name: Win XP Pro SP3 (build 2600) x86

Any ideas would be appreciated...(haven't heard back from my ms contact in days)...
    so I'm a little irritated...

    Thanks,
    Nile

Well, you can try another repair, but it is likely you have to do a fresh install. Did you try to contact MS again and see what they say?

Ok, I did the paralell reinstall on windows xp...and all went well...
    except for no Internet access...

Found out that these reinstalls, you end up with ie6 since I did have ie7.
So I installed ie7. no results...

Doing a little more research, I ended up in Device Manager...
All looked good except for Yellow? = other devices...?ethernet controller...?muti-
    media audio controller...
    All three yellow
So I guess these are drivers I need.
You have any idea of how to get the right ones...I'll have to download to
another computer and slap on a cd...

    Thanks

    Hi wildwestdeals

You asked "So I guess these are drivers I need. You have any idea of how to get the right ones...I'll have to download to
another computer and slap on a cd"

Go to here Drivers & Downloads
All the drivers you need are there.

That's what I did, I decided to read up on 'fresh clean installs' and went ahead with it...
    Thanks for your help...
