Assuming you did not accidentally switch the notebook to external monitor mode (see your manual) then take it back where you bought it.

try this if its a laptop.... unplug the power to the pc then take out the battery, then hold the start button on ur laptop for 20-30 seconds,,,once thats done, continue with installing the battery again and power lead.. then simply press start on ur laptop, an voila!!!! this should work, worked on mine!!!! hope this helps u too...

Yes, using this method above will discharge and reset the laptop.

Maybe the power voltage is not that stable at the time we connect the power cord.

If the external monitor is not connected, the laptop should be able to switch back to the own display.
