Recently my 'puter has begun duplicating files (1) (2) (3) times. It is taking up my HD space. How can they be removed and prevented in the future. HELP!!

Is it and particular type of file?.
Are the duplicate files associated with a particular program
Usually the duplicating file is associated with or created by a particular program.
If this is the case then uninstalling and reinstalling that program may cure the problem.

The files that are duplicated are under My Documents. Also they appear in my Favorites in Yahoo. I have been eliminating them with Easy Duplicate Finder. It works great but soon the duplicate files appear again. I am really puzzled.

What kind of files are being duplicated? Some programs (such as word) might create backups just in case something goes wrong such as the program crashing before you saved the most recent version. In fact MS office does do that. Like Jim said perhaps the program will stop doing that after a reinstall. Please tell us more information so that we can better help you.

I will give you your requests. I am away from my computer most of today but I will respond. Thank you for addressing my issue.

I too was going through same problem my friend suggested me to try Duplicate File Finder from Ashisoft and it really worked good
