What driver did you install, the SiS® 650/650GL/651/661FX/740/761GX/67x VGA Drivers from the download page off the link you provided: MSI Global ? Computer, Laptop, Notebook, Desktop, Mainboard, Graphics and more

Did you also try the SiS® 650/650GL/651/661FX/740/761GX/67x System Drivers?

What do you mean by "no VGA support when changing resolutions"? What actually happens?

Are there any yellow marks in Device Manager?

You have installed the Chipset (System) and VGA drivers now, right?

well this is what it shows,

In device manager, there are yellow flags against:
    "PCI Simple Communications Controller"
    &
    "Video Controller - VGA Compatible"

The working resolution I have is 800 x 600 pixels.

Under Display Properties, it states "[Default Monitor] On

When I try to change the screen resolution, the screen goes black then the "VGA MODE NOT SUPPORT" message appears at which point I have to hit "Escape" to get anything back on the screen.

Yet again - help is gratefully received.

this is for a problem posted to me

You have installed both the Chipset (System) and VGA drivers now, right? Sounds like you did but I want to be sure?

Are you using the onboard video (connected directly to the MSI mother board) or is there an add-on PCI/PCI-E/AGP video card installed?

If you double click on "Video Controller - VGA Compatible" in Device Manager, select Hardware IDs from the drop down Property box, what is shown for PCI\VEN.......??? You can click on it once to select it, then press Ctrl+C to copy it then paste it in a reply here.

For instance, my nVidia Quadro FX 3400/440 has: PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_00F8&SUBSYS_029B10DE&REV_A2

    This is what I got

    PCI\VEN_1039&DEV_6325&SUBSYS_71981462&REV_00\4&352 5EC23&0&0008

    Thanks

This is what I find for that:

    %Vender.MSI.DeviceDesc6% = SiS315 , PCI\VEN_1039&DEV_6325&SUBSYS_71981462

which doesn't agree with what the web site you provided the link to says.

Are you sure your motherboard is a MS-6533XG?

Download and run System Information for Windows (SIW). Collapse the Software tree and expand the Hardware tree. Click on Motherboard and see what it says. You can click anywhere in the right side pane then press Ctrl+A to select all, then Right click and Copy to clipboard then paste results here.

    Do the same for Video.

Maybe that will tell us something.
