The laptop is fairly fast and running good but the screens of pages jump instead of scrolling smooth. And if watching something like hulu the picture is jumpy as well.

any hope for this comp and can you lead me towards the fix?
    Thanks

Did you downgrade from Vista? I ask because one the product specs says Vista and more importantly there aren't any XP drivers available from the manufacturer's website (except for the keyboard).

I have tried them and several other places and can't find them. Yes this was a vista system from the factory but was converted before i bought it.

Anymore a downgrade is a bad idea especially if there aren't any drivers. If you have the Vista disk I would reinstall that. Otherwise you might consider going with 7.

No I don't have the disc unfortunately. I was able to reformat it about a year ago buyt the drivers I installed back then won't work now. I'll just keep plugging at it though.
    Thanks

Why don't the drivers work? What happens when you try to install them?

I get the message that there is no device located for the driver. Dvd's and downloaded avi format movies play fine. Streaming media and screen scrolling is still jumpy. It seems no one can direct me to the drivers to correct the issue. I still have the same 3 yellow question marks as described above.
    Thanks

    Hi Tiffany

The 3 yellow question marks on the device manager.
    co-processor
Modem device on High Definition Audio bus
    video controller (VGA Compatible)

The yellow question marks on the device manager beside
The coprosseor will require Processor Driver for Windows XP
The video controller (VGA Compatible) will require the graphics card drivers.
Modem device on High Definition Audio bus Will require the drivers for the laptop modem.
The spec for your Laptop is listed here
Product Specifications Compaq Presario F730US Notebook PC - HP Customer Care (United States - English)
It say' your OS is Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium
So I assume you've formatted and installed Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 (build 2600)

You will need to find the graphics drivers for your NVIDIA GeForce Go 6100 (UMA)
Go here to find the XP version NVIDIA GeForce Go 6100 (UMA)
    Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers
This will help with your screens of pages jump instead of scrolling smooth problem.

Co-Processor Driver for Windows XP is listed as 1.8 GHz AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core Mobile Technology TK-55
You can find divers for this here
    AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor Driver v 1.3.2.16 for Win XP / Server 2003 (x86 and x64) - TechSpot Drivers

Your Modem device is only listed as High speed 56k modem
So unless someone out there with a Presario F730us can help with the name of the modem
    I cannot help with that

    Hope this helps

    Jim
