Internet connectivity and add-ons

    Question Internet connectivity and add-ons

The message I'm getting is "Internet Explorer is currently running with add-ons disabled", so it's unable to display many webpages. When I tried to MANAGE add-ons there was no place to turn them ON, just off..and they're already OFF! In trying to "FIX" I accidently erased a Yahoo installation, ActiveX Control, Version 2007.11.28.1. THANKS in advance, I had no idea this amazing resource existed before now!! ~Lori

    Hi Lori and welcome.
The message I'm getting is "Internet Explorer is currently running with add-ons disabled", so it's unable to display many webpages.
Well, add ons do not affect what webpages get displayed although it may block some enhancement on some webpages so something else was doing that. There is an option to run IE without add-ons and I am afraid that is what might have happened.

Does IE open in this mode every time? If so, right click on the IE icon and select Properties.
In Target, you should see something like "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -extoff
Remove the -exoff and click Apply and you should be good to go.

OMG, HELP!! With much care I answered great response to thread I started. I was fooling around with icons and when I highlighted icon -- to erase -- my screen disappeared too!!! Is it retrievable SOMEHOW?! It was in "preview post mode" when it happened. ...One of many example why "computers drive me nuts"...if I may stereotype...

    Thanks, AGAIN!! ~Lori

If you have closed the browser session, it is gone. If not, you can try the back arrow and refresh keys, but don't hold your breath. Sorry.
