    No help in your DxDiag output.

    What is the make and model of your computer?

    Is the sound onboard (built into the system board) or an Add-on PCI card? Need to know the manufacturer and model number to know what driver you need. If it's a PCI Add-on you can power off the computer, unplug the power cord then open the case, remove the sound card and see if you ca determne whop made it and what the model number is. If nothing else there might be a FCC id number.

    Another was to get some info is to open Device Manager (Start, Run type devmgmt.msc and press Enter) and see if there is an entry with a yellow mark by it for Sound or Multi media, something like that. Double click on it then select the Detail tab. In the drop down box, select Device Instance ID. You should then see a line with

    PCI\VEN_xxxx&DEV_xxxx&SUBSYS_xxxxxxxx&.......

    Paste that here and we can use that to search with and hopefully find the make/model and a driver for it.

    If not and the device is onboard then you will need to tell us the make and model of the system board. You can find this information using The D-A-L Hardware Scanner. Paste the Motherboard info here.

    Sound Tab 1: No sound card was found. If one is expected, you should install a sound driver provided by the hardware manufacturer. You don't have your driver installed. Follow Ztrucker's instructions about device manager. But, since I'm almost 100% sure its onboard sound so the best way to do that is to connect to thy internet and find the driver.

    1.)Right click My Computer
    2.)Click properties
    3.)In the left hand pane on the window that just popped up, you will see Device and click on it
    4.)Next, in the biggest pane you will see a list. You should see one labelled Sound/Video Controller
    5.)Click on this and if you see a yellow sign thats your problem.
    6.)right click the sound device and then click properties.
    7.)click the Driver's tab and then you will see a box that says Update Driver.
    8.)Click it then you should be ok.

    TADA.

    If it doesn't work, let us know

    Please answer the questions I've asked. The SIQ output is no help for this.

    What is the make and model number of your computer? Looks like it's a IBM/Lenova.
    What is the PCI\VEN_xxxx&DEV_xxxx&SUBSYS_xxxxxxxx&....... info.

    As well as Ztruker's questions,,,,,,, What is the make and model number of your computer? Looks like it's a IBM/Lenova.

    Let's take a secondary approach as well;

    Download, install, and run Everest Home Edition on this machine. (CLEAN FreeWare) Once it's finished loading and
    running, click the + sign next to;

    Motherboard. Click on Chipset. Post the information listed under South Bridge exactly as it is listed.

    Multimedia. Post the information listed under PCI / PnP Audio exactly as it is listed.
