I recently picked up a used laptop with a bunch of issues. One at a time though. Upon startup, I can enter the BIOS screen, however, I can't scroll through in any way, and I cannot escape, and am required to do a hard reboot. The keyboard works fine in Windows. I have read where sometimes hooking up a PS2 keyboard helps on desktops. However, this is a laptop, and I am curious if there is anything I can do to fix this.

Another strange quirk on this machine. When I boot it. Occasionally, the screen goes black after the windows startup screen (just before the login screen). I can still hear the windows startup jingle, but I have no image on the screen. I have tried using the function key to swap between screens in case it is sending the signal to another monitor for some reason, but it still doesn't work. I again have to do a hard reboot, and every three or four times, it will continue to boot normally. Thanks in advance for your help on this.
