I have been trying for over a month to access the CB Predators Training Videos and have gotten no where. My hope is that your esteemed membership might be able to steer me toward a solution.
--------- my setup -----------
My PC:
Compaq Presario S5000CL
AMD Athelon XP 2600 (2.13. GHz)
1GB RAM / Master 160GB / Slave 80GB
Windows XP Home SP3
I tried all of the following with the same result: Blank white area where video should be
and no error messages... nothing
Maxthon - 2.5.13.166
Firefox - 3.6.3
IE - 8.0.6001.18702
Opera - 10.53.3374.0
SeaMonkey - 2.0.4
-------------------------------------
I uninstalled and re-installed new Codecs (K-Lite Codec pack)
I have no problem viewing FLV videos in stand alone viewer (VLC) or on YouTube.
The Adobe Flash Test for Adobe Flash Player works fine.
Note: it uses the same Javascript embedding code as on CBPredators website, but the video is SWF rather than FLV.
I apparently have some setting wrong on my PC. A hint as to what it might be?
I have attached (uploaded) a text file * ScriptEx.txt * with an example of javascript embedding that I have problems with and one that works.
Any help you may be able to provide would be sincerely appreciated.
I tried the code you sent and for me it worked just fine (didn't get the video, but a player instead of just a white screen)
Have you tried reinstalling Flash?
Beacuse if you don't get even the player. That means you cannot play the flash content.
You can play on youtube which suggests this is not the case. But you might aswell try?
I have uninstalled and re-installed the latest version about 4 times (And just did so again), re-booting between steps, but the result is always the same. The flash test at wwwDOTadobeDOTcom/products/flashplayer/ works without a hitch. The difference may be that this is SWF rather than FLV format. I only seem to have a problem with FLV videos and only when the javascript construct is used (as I mentioned, YouTube is primarily FLV and they play fine).
I guess I am a novice at video formats, but if i download a video using Orbit, I can download a video file with a ".swf" extension or ".flv extension. the flv's can be played with the VLC stand alone player, but the ones with the .swf extension will only play with a flash player. I guess I thought they were separate formats.
